These terms apply to the Starmarcher website at starmarcher.com and to the pre-launch waitlist. Separate terms will apply to the game itself when player accounts open, and you will be asked to accept them then.

1. Who we are

The website and waitlist are operated by the Starmarcher project ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@starmarcher.com.

2. The waitlist

Joining the waitlist is free and creates no obligation on either side. It does not guarantee access to any test, beta or launch, and it is not a pre-order or a contract for the game.
You must be 16 or older to join.
One entry per person. Entries made with disposable, forged or third-party addresses, or by automated means, may be removed without notice.
Your position is the order in which confirmed entries were confirmed. It only ever moves up. We may invite people out of order (for example to balance factions or regions in a test).
You can leave at any time using the link in any e-mail or on your status page. Leaving deletes your entry.

3. Referrals and the Founder's Badge

Each confirmed member receives a personal referral link. A referral counts when the invited person confirms their own e-mail address.
Three confirmed referrals earn the Founder's Badge, a purely cosmetic marker shown beside your name in the game. It has no gameplay effect and no cash value, and it cannot be sold or transferred.
Referring yourself, buying or selling referrals, spamming, or otherwise gaming the programme results in the removal of the entries involved and of any badge earned through them.
We may change or end the referral programme; badges already earned will be honoured.

4. Your conduct

Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape or gain unauthorised access to the site or its services, and do not use the site to send unsolicited messages to others.

5. Intellectual property

Starmarcher, its name, logo, artwork, text and design are our intellectual property or used under licence. Starmarcher is an original work in an original universe and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any other game, film or franchise. You may share links to the site and quote short excerpts with attribution; any other use needs our written permission.

6. No warranties

The site and waitlist are provided as they are, in a pre-launch state. We do not promise that they will be available without interruption, that e-mails will arrive, or that the game will launch on any date, with any feature, or at all. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all warranties and are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or waitlist. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when they last changed. Continued use of the waitlist after a change means you accept the new terms. If you do not, leave the waitlist.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute — without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you enjoy in the country where you live.
